Practice of Champions at Logan Brewing

Courtney is traveling to compete in the Concours mondial du Meilleur Fromager competition for the Best Cheesemonger in the World in Tours, France, on September 12. Please join us to cheer her on, provide some feedback, and eat lots of cheese as she and her co-competitor on Team USA, Sam Rollins of Cowbell Fine Cheese in Portland, Oregon, do a practice run of their competition submissions.

During this practice event, Courtney and Sam will be completing 5 tasks:

1. Cheese Plate: a composed cheese plate featuring 5 cheeses and accompaniments
2. Combination of Tastes: a perfect plate highlighting one cheese
3. Cheese Preparation: a transformation of one cheese into something elevated through the use of cold ingredients
4. Cheese Platter: a large-scale display of various cheeses following the theme “Cheese in the Stars”
5. Cutting and Presentation: a cheese “sculpture” or centerpiece made entirely of cheese

That is going to be a lot of cheese! We invite you to come provide moral support and help us eat this cheese so none of it goes to waste. Sam and Courtney will build their displays from 11:00 to 3:00 p.m., and then from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. attendees will be able to eat all the cheese, ask questions about the competition, and wave positive vibes over Team USA’s heads.

We ask attendees to pay $10 to help us cover the cost of all this cheese; donations to support the trip to France are welcome and appreciated. (Tailor is also going to help support and cheer on Team USA, to braid Courtney’s hair because she can’t do it herself, and to gain inspiration along the way to help make Street Cheese the best it can be.)
