Raclette Night at Fair Isle Brewing

December 17, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

We will be melting a delicious local Raclette this Raclette Night at Fair Isle Brewing! Raclette is a washed-rind cheese made from cow’s milk that gets its name from the French word “racler,” which means “to scrape”–because that’s how this cheese is most commonly served: scraped hot onto potatoes with pickles and charcuterie.

For our take on this tasty Swiss mountain tradition, we put a Raclette-style cheese (Filomena from Fantello Farmstead Creamery in Enumclaw, WA) onto one of our cheese-melting contraptions until the cheese becomes molten and bubbly. The hot stuff gets melted over crispy potato chips and is served with a side of cornichon pickles and cured meat (or not meat, if you’re a vegetarian). It’s a fantastic, cozy way to treat yourself to the best things in life (cheese). If you’re in for the long haul on beer and cheese that night, we’ll also be putting together our standard fare of non-melted cheese and charcuterie plates, featuring a couple of cheeses that happen to also be Raclette or related to it.

If you’d like to order a holiday cheese platter for any festivities you are attending or hosting this weekend, you can also order ahead through our online store and schedule a pick-up either during this event (4-7pm). Be sure to check the box for the pickup location at Fair Isle Brewing AND change the location under “How to get it now” to Fair Isle Brewing so that our finnicky Square ordering system gets your order right.
